Goodness. I haven't posted a picture post in a long time! We've been dealing with colds and Caleb going to LA on business and staying busy despite all of it. Xander's poor nose has been running and we've both been coughing for a couple days, really looking forward to hot summer days to clear our colds out! It's starting to warm up which has been really nice for my garden, I'm very excited about it. I had a neighbor come and till up a patch of ground and I've got all the seeds ready to go...and then it starts to rain! Dang. I'll just have to get them in the ground on the next sunny day, I'll be sure to post pictures and keep you updated on that. So, here are a couple weeks worth of pictures in one post, lots to see. A trip to Ikea, some time spent with friends and let's not forget St. Patrick's Day!!! Enjoy. Xander loves the little crawl-through at Ikea, the entrance to the kids stuff. A lot of good ideas for decorating a kids room, I think this is one of our favorites. I call it the Blue's Clues room. Inside a little igloo tent. We went to a party hosted by 'Ink Floyd' a local print shop/indoor skate park. Xander couldn't be torn away from the skaters, he clapped and pointed and even danced to the music. All around a good time, mostly watching him enjoy himself. I'm sure Papa won't waste time getting X his own skateboard. A family shot, X is busy watching skaters. We still love our trips to Target! Getting buckled into our little car. The nice weather lets us put the top down and actually enjoy it for a bit. Because of our colds I've been stocking my body with vitamin C, mostly disolved in hot water which helps my throat and cough... A group of guys for Adam's going away party. For your information; this is what we look like at 4:45 am when we have to get Caleb to the airport...not a pretty sight. Xander stayed asleep while we dressed him for the cool weather, he's a good trooper though, never cries when we wake him early and always falls right asleep when we get back home. His shirt said I had to kiss him, I did my best all day. My first try at corned beef and veggies, mmmm, so good! That was our first St. Patrick's Day meal at home. Last year this time we were in Atlanta celebrating The Worlds Smallest St. Patrick's Day Parade...haha, oh Conyers.
So...Caleb took the laptop with the St. Patty's Day pictures on it, which I was going to post...SOOOOO Sorry for the delay in posting, I'll post when he comes home! Wait for it...
I came across this video footage from CNN.com of an accidental capture of a jewelry heist done in London in the middle of the day! A reporter was doing her story of a book at a book store just a couple shops down from a jewelry store, she was in the middle of reporting when two sport bikes began revving their engines. It was discovered later the engines were to mask the sound of a sledgehammer breaking the shops windows. The cameras kept rolling and captured the, anti-climactic (if you ask me), get-away. But, get-away they did because last I heard police are still searching for the jewel thieves. Amazing.
Vanity Fair did a line of photo spoofs on past and famous pictures using 'Comedy's New Legends'. You can find all the photos HERE on the Vanity Fair site. I always like Vanity's pictures and even more so when they use some of my favorite actors. These pictures do not disappoint, I actually had to check out some of the captions to make sure I knew who it was, ie. Seth Rogan does Frida or Rudd in Frankenstein. Seriously funny guys in seriously funny pictures...seriously.
This is a picture of the strip in NoDa, the best neighborhood in Charlotte, and quite possibly the world. Yes. The world. The neighborhood is located around the intersection of North Davidson (hence NoDa) and 35th St. It has everything one could ever want with a neighborhood; good food and good people and entertainment. Creative Loafing has begun their 'Best Neighborhood of the Year' contest and I'm determined to do my part. So, you must listen to me and go HERE and vote for NoDa repeditively, and I mean it. Over and over, all day. Just vote, hit refresh and vote again...and again...and again. Do it for me. Do it for Caleb. DO IT FOR XANDER!!!
I haven't posted in a week, I was feeling the pressure of having not posted so I thought I'd throw up some pictures from the last week. Friday was a NODA Gallery Crawl night and the first one this Spring with decent weather so we had a group of friends over to hang out and talk before taking the walk to the strip. We always have a good time with friends during the crawl. We've had crazy nice weather over the weekend and got to put the top down on the Cabrio, little man looked so cute in his little newsie hat, when he kept it on! Actually a slow week, which is why I haven't had much to post about...I'll try harder. Here are some pictures. The nicer weather lets the little one run around in his diaper, it's oh so cute. He looks nakey here! Xander's baby buffet, a pile of strawberries, tomatoes, crackers and cheese...what more could he want? He takes his time, shoving food into his mouth. Dhiren in the front there. One of the art shows on the Gallery Crawl, an unused building that was offered to students to use for displaying their art. Jacobchills in the back... Walking the strip, this is in front of Revolution Pizza, mmmmmm, so good! I'm not sure what I was doing but there is a good chance I was telling someone what to do. Back after our walk and little munchkin needs to get to bed. Saying good night to friends. Yep. I love this picture, he looks like a famous baby being chased by the paparazzi. We love our little convertible...not very often, but sometimes. This is his Myspace picture, all dramatic. He makes the biggest messes for such a little person. Xander and Flooper together. He did this on his own and thought he was so funny, he was so proud of himself, giggling the whole time. I just love him.
Had a very busy and very fun week last week at Misha's house. We flew in on Saturday the 21st and stayed until the 28th. I'll post those pictures as soon as I get them from her. After we got back to Charlotte the weather turned on us and it got super cold and rainy and that eventually turned to snow...in March! The snow started Sunday night and here it is Tuesday morning and it's still hanging around, the 19 degree weather helps, but I've not seen snow stick around since I was last in Minnesota, it's nice but would have been nicer in December when I really wanted it. Ikea is now open in Charlotte which gives us great weekend activities, we dealt with the crowds and had some amazing lunch (Swedish meatballs!). On Sunday mornings we like to leave the house a little early and head to Amalie's Bakery (former posts) for a breakfast sandwich and some coffee. We usually sit at the same table each week because it gives X a lot of room to run down the nearest hallway, he's very busy these days. And of course I shot a lot of pictures of the snow. So, here's our weekend home from Texas. Bundling up the little one for Sunday morning. That's my new shirt/dress that Caleb got me while he was gone to the West coast on business, I love it! If there was any doubt, probably none, about who X-man looks like, this should settle it. I call him my own Benjamin Button, he's a mini-Caleb. Loves to run up and down his hallway at Amalie's. Testing out a toddler chair and table, so cute, I think we already decided to get it. $24 for a table and 2 chairs, it just can't be beat. Here's Caleb on our front porch in the snow, he's scooping to gather a snowball to throw at me...next picture... It was a success, he threw quite a few that I dodged but he caught me off-guard for this one. Flooper bouncing around in the snow. Xander liked to look at it, he called it 'no'...I have a video of him saying it, I'll post it soon. Our neighbor...yep. He built a snowman on his car that he had for sale. It was weighing down the roof of the car, it was pretty funny. He was taking pictures as we were on a walk and asked us to snap a shot of his girlfriend and him in front of it, so Caleb grabbed one of his own. Pretty funny.
